

Putting assessment data to good use is
paramount to an useful assessment program. To that end, the Center, in
conjunction with Academic Assistance Programs, provides services meant to aid
academic programs in developing cross-collaborative student interventions based
on assessment data.
Representatives from both the Center and from Academic Assistance Programs meet
with faculty to determine their specific intervention needs. The Center's staff
assist faculty in developing or selecting the right measure for the intervention
such as a prerequisite mathematics skills exam. The staff of Academic Assistance
Programs work with department faculty to decide how best to allocate the
appropriate resources and how to develop the intervention best suited to the
students' needs such as half-day math workshops or free on-site tutoring
sessions. Examples of some assessment-based interventions are listed
below.
