Our Strategic Goals

 

 

 

The Student Assessment Center has eight strategic goals for the 2002-2007 planning cycle that guide its activities and its operation:

  1. Realign Program Level Assessment Plans

  2. Realign General Education Assessment Program

  3. Establish a Systematic Feedback Loop of the Assessment Results to the Constituents

  4. Conduct Faculty Development and Training Workshops as well as Individual Consultations

  5. Regain and Amplify Assessment Momentum and Solicit Involvement/ Input of Students, Faculty, and Staff

  6. Conduct Research Projects on Learning and Assessment

  7. Establish a Central Program-Assessment Database

  8. Conduct Assessment Benchmarking and Peer/Competitor Analysis

   Title-III Comprehensive Development Plan for Assessment of Student Learning (2002-2007).  This document outlines the strategic goals and objectives for the Center.

 

 

  WVSC Assessment Program: Observations and Strategic Action Plans.  This report on the status of student assessment programs through October 2000 served as a foundation for the Center's strategic action planning.

 

 

   A Report of Student Learning Outcome Assessment at West Virginia State College (March 2002).  This institutional self-study report was submitted to NCHEMS (National Center for Higher Education Management Systems) as part of a statewide initiative sponsored by HEPC.  The report examined the status of assessment in the following areas: (a) Organization and Structure of Assessment, (b) Assessment of Basic Skills/Developmental Education, (c) Assessment of General Education, (d) Assessment of the Major Fields, and (e) Institutional Self-Assessment.
